All-New Performance
The 2017 Hyundai Elantra comes with two all-new powertrain options designed to produce a performance that's better than ever. Its standard 2.0-liter Atkinson Cycle four-cylinder engine has been improved to generate more power and better fuel economy. Together with the updated six-speed automatic transmission, this engine gets 147 horsepower and up to an EPA-estimated 38 highway mpg.
The new Elantra also features a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine in its fuel-efficient ECO trim. Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the engine generates 128 horsepower and an EPA-estimated 40 highway mpg.
Best of all, the 2017 Elantra allows you to experience the exact performance you want thanks to Drive Mode Select. It adjusts the throttle response and steering to one of three modes: Normal, Eco, or Sport.

The latest Elantra comes with a variety of new technologies as well. They include an upgraded infotainment system with Apple CarPlayâ„¢ and Android Autoâ„¢ support.
Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ are advanced technologies that integrate compatible smartphones with the in-vehicle infotainment system. This allows you to stay connected to the outside world while you travel. With these smartphone integration technologies, you'll be able to use your favorite mobile apps, send texts, make calls, and much more while you're behind the wheel.
The 2017 Elantra also welcomes a selection of new safety technologies, like Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. This lets you know when a vehicle is traveling within your side blind spots or when a car is approaching from either side as you back up.
This year's model also includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. The system can detect when you're at risk of a frontal collision and signal you to slow down and stop. It will also apply the brakes to better ensure your safety and overall peace of mind.
