First Maintenance Check: Six Months or 7,500 Miles

Your first round of maintenance for your 2017 Hyundai Tucson involves fairly basic procedures that will need to be performed every six months or every 7,500 miles from here on out. When you hit this marker for the first time, here's what you'll need to do:

Second Maintenance Check: 12 Months or 15,000 Miles

Your second maintenance check involves all of the procedures of your first maintenance check, along with the following additions:

  • Replace the blower and evaporator unit climate control air filter.
  • Inspect the suspension mounting bolts.
  • Inspect the steering gear boots, linkage and box, along with the lower and upper arm ball joints.
  • Inspect the front brake calipers, pads and discs, along with the rear brake pads and discs.
  • Inspect the exhaust pipe and muffler.
  • Inspect the drive shafts and boots.
  • Inspect the brake hoses and lines.
  • Inspect the air conditioning refrigerant.
  • Inspect the vacuum hose.
  • Inspect the filter for the air cleaner.

Third Maintenance Check: 18 Months or 22,500 Miles

You'll need to schedule your third maintenance check after you've had your vehicle for 18 months or when you've driven it 22,500 miles, whichever comes first. The procedures that need to be performed for this round are the same as those in the first maintenance check since they need to be done every six months or 7,500 miles.

Fourth Maintenance Check: 24 Months or 30,000 Miles

When you've had your vehicle for two years or have put 30,000 miles on it, it's time for your fourth round of maintenance. Along with those required every six months, you'll need to perform the following procedures: 

  • Replace the filter for the air cleaner.
  • Replace the evaporator and blower unit climate control air filter.
  • Inspect the vapor hose, fuel filler cap, and fuel tank.
  • Inspect the air filter for the fuel tank.
  • Inspect the fuel lines, hoses, and connections.
  • Inspect the fuel filter.
  • Inspect the parking brake.
  • Inspect the brake fluid.
  • Inspect the brake hoses and brake lines.
  • Inspect the front brake calipers and the front and rear brake pads and discs.
  • Inspect the vacuum hose.
  • Inspect the refrigerant for the air conditioning.
  • Inspect the drive shafts and the boots.
  • Inspect the exhaust pipe and muffler.
  • Inspect the propeller shaft.
  • Inspect the steering gear boots, linkage and box, along with the lower and upper arm ball joints.
  • Inspect the mounting bolts for the suspension.
